This is a Homer Laughlin dinner plate in what I believe is the Kwaker shape. The pattern is Darcy, which is the Sears-branded name for the Countess pattern.
The plate is in good condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. It has a few utensil marks and a little bit of wear to the gold trim, but is otherwise in great shape. There are the usual kiln marks and a couple of tiny glazing flaws on the back side (shown in the photos).
The plate measures 9-1/2 inches in diameter and has a depth of approximately 1 inch.
This piece has two marks on it. The Homer Laughlin mark indicates that it was made in 1940. The "Darcy" pattern stamp shows that this was sold through Sears.
This would be a lovely piece to add to any Homer Laughlin collection. Please feel free to ask questions! Check out our other listings for related pieces!
